2019 NZKGI Great Grower Debate

October 17, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm

The Great Grower Debate returns on Thursday, 17 October with the topic that “That all roads lead to China” – focusing on Zespri’s marketing activities and to what extent that investment should be made into China.  All stakeholders of the kiwifruit industry are warmly invited to attend.  The debate teams are as follows:

Negative Team: Alex Ashe (BOP Young Fruit Grower winner), Oliver Broad (Zespri), Rob Craig (Punchbowl)

Positive Team: Bryce Morrison (Fruition), Robert Humphries (Eastpack & NZKGI rep), Brendon Lee (Mpac & Apac)

The classic school-style debate is organised by NZKGI and Mayston Partners and is aimed to foster conversations amongst growers on topics of importance to the kiwifruit industry. It is intended as a lively entertainment event and is judged by a member of Toastmasters.  It is important to note that the points awarded relate to the argumentation skills of the respective teams rather than their personal opinions. In no way is the information presented by either side endorsed by NZKGI. Entry is free and drinks & nibbles will be available.

RSVP now! Spaces are limited – send an email stating the number of people who will attend to info@nzkgi.org.nz. Please also state if you are a grower or the company you come from.

The debate will take place on Thursday, 17 October, 5.30pm – 9.00pm at Club Mount Maunganui, 45 Kawaka St, Mount Maunganui. We look forward to seeing you there.
